New Era for Noonee Angus Stud

Noonee Angus Stud of Larras Lee is set to usher in a new era in the lead up to this year’s annual bull sale releasing a fresh new image.

Stud Manager, Netta Holmes Lee, said the stud is set to release a fresh new brand and an updated website to further reflect the future direction of the enterprise.

“Our tagline – ‘Practical Cattle for Profitable Performance – NO BULL’ reflects the emphasis we place on our product and our reputation in the market,” Netta explained.

“We want to emphasise our “no bull” approach to marketing cattle, and highlight that we sell bulls younger than the market average.

“Many people ask us why we sell our bulls at 14-16 months old. The answer is simple – selling bulls younger allows our customers to access our genetics earlier, and the bulls are younger, fitter and leaner, which leads to a longer working life and so gives you a better return on your investment.”

Noonee bulls are slightly above the average frame size of Angus bulls, but have additional thickness and length to ensure production of steers that will suit a range of end markets.

“Our philosophy is to produce cattle that efficiently convert fodder to beef, and profitably meet market specifications for us and our clients on a sustainable agricultural basis,” Netta said.

“The cattle we sell must also pass stringent standards of fertility and performance to remain part of our breeding program, and we never compromise on temperament or structural soundness.”

Noonee bulls have continued to improve over the years, with more emphasis on muscle and higher growth rates, but focus has always been placed on fertility, temperament and structure.

“These traits are the cornerstones of a productive commercial cow herd and therefore a profitable beef business,” Netta explained.

The annual sale, held on the 2nd Wednesday in September (14th September, 2016), will feature 50 Angus bulls.
